Music Festivals such as Coachella, Firefly and SXSW are some of the most popular festivals known to the public. Festivals provide an all-day, sometimes even multiple day, experience filled with different artists, performances and collaborations. The atmosphere is AWESOME, quite frankly. Pittsburgh’s music scene is already great with an the annual Thrival Festival put on by Thrill Mill, but we’re always looking to grow! With the help of The Pittsburgh City Paper and Pabst Blue Ribbon, we are taking another leap!
This Saturday, January 17th, Pittsburgh is hosting Strip District Music Fest, an all day festival hosting over 70 musicians at 11 venues in the Strip District! There will be art vendors, food trucks and you pay what you want! It’s pretty sick to see so much local talent coming together. There are also tons of delicious restaurants in the Strip District including Osteria 2350 and SAVOY, both featuring special menus for Pittsburgh Restaurant Week happening till Sunday!
You can check out a soundcloud featuring some of the bands playing on the events website. A full line-up is below.
Having donations based events are cool because lots of people are able to come, but make sure to give if you can! Bands participating have been working hard to promote themselves and put on a great show! Support local music!
