You Gotta Regatta!

Pittsburgh is heating up for the fourth! The 4th of July is one of my FAVORITE holidays! Fireworks, american pride, hot dogs and family & friends; what’s not to love?! This year Pittsburgh is bringing back the signature theme associated with the weekend, You Gotta Regatta! The EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta is happening July 3rd, 4th and 5th across Point State Park and the North Shore 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. every day! This year features a 90 ft LED ferris wheel (hello PGH coachella?!), I Made it Market!, Food Truck Row, BMX bikes, flying frisbee dogs, power boats, kids fun and much more.

You won’t want to miss performances by country music sweethearts Brett Eldredge and Chris Young! Most viewing sections are free but this year they’ve added a V.I.P pit directly in front of the stage. Tickets available here. The main attraction is of course EQT ‘Flashes of Freedom’ fireworks set to blow at 9:30 p.m. off the Three Rivers on the 4th.

For a full schedule of Regatta events, visit!

Follow the Regatta on social media for updates and behind-the-scenes looks at the weekend festivities!

Darling I’m A Nightmare…

…..dressed like a DAYDREAM!

Pittsburgh was over the moon excited for Taylor Swift’s 1989 Tour to roll through town this past Saturday night and I never miss an occasion to 1) ‘Shake It Off’ 2) Wear red lipstick. Fortunately enough for me Sarah of The Surznick Common Room shares the same passions. We linked up before the show and I’m so excited to share our concert-ready outfits!

Any long-time Taylor fans knows we started this journey wearing cowgirls boots to her concerts, but over the years have transformed to more of a retro pop vibe; as has her music. Taylor is known for her adorable and flashy co-ordinates and I just so happen to be a  fan as well. I don’t usually go crazy for pieces I find at the mall but this two-piece was the first thing to catch my eye and I instantly fell in love.

I love to style statement necklaces but this neckline spoke for its self! Black and white stripes with a pop of red is my go-to combo. Combining neutrals is also a recent favorite of mine.(Camo counts as a neutral am I right ladies?!)

I recently invested in a pair of Ray-ban sunglasses (cross your fingers I finally feel responsible enough to NOT break them!) and I can’t stop wearing them. I never want to take them off. With my red hair and pale skin, black frames often feel too hard on my face. I opted for the club masters in tortoise and haven’t looked back since!

Dress: Charlotte Russe; Heels: Old Navy; Bag: Plato’s Closet McKnight; Earrings: F21

“I got that red-lip classic thing that you like.” -Style

I really enjoyed getting to work and know another local Pittsburgh blogger! It’s one of the best parts of blogging I didn’t realize I would get to do when I started. Pop over to The Surznick Common Room to find details of what Sarah wore to the show!

Belle’s First Birthday

We did it! We made it to our first big milestone. Belle of the Burgh isn’t just about me, it’s about us. It’s about the dedicated and consistent readers, the enthusiasm of Pittsburgh and the support of my family and friends. This anniversary belongs to US. I started this blog a year ago with the hope I would spread the greatness and potential that I see in the city I keep so near and dear to my heart. It over joys me when someone tells me they attended an event they saw on my blog or really enjoyed a picture I chose to shoot for a post. It feels like a community.

In the past year Belle has:

1. Traveled to Washington D.C., Orlando, and Detroit.

2. Yoga-ed in Market Square and PNC Park

3. Learned from and met bloggers in the community

4. Shared my first fashion post

5. Felt 22

6. Celebrated LOVE

7. Gained an appreciation for all things ART

8. Graduated College

9. Collaborated with friends

10. Went to concert….after concert.….after concert

It often surprises my friends and followers when I tell them I knew NOTHING about blogging when I started. Sure, my major is relevant but I bought the book “Blogging for Dummies” to read during my slow hours at work and taught myself from there on. If you have an idea or are looking to find your niche, I encourage you to do something about it! The nerves I felt while putting myself out there for the first time were scary, but the pride I have for building something from the bottom up in front of everyone I know in real-life and on the internet outweighs every ounce of fear I felt.

A special thank you to my mother for her endless support and patience. She is my main blog photographer and has spent hours at a time watching me spin in circles and look anywhere but the camera. She’s the #1 blog assistant.

I can’t wait for continued growth and fun as we move forward together.

Farmer’s Market

Lunch breaks in the city have a great view, but lunch breaks with delicious dishes, music and sweets have great taste! Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is back with their annual farmer’s market. Pierogies, fresh produce, warm cookies and flowers fill market square from 10:00-2:00 p.m. every Thursday afternoon this summer. I checked out some of the booths on opening day to share with all of you.

Belle Takes Washington D.C.

Time flies when you’re having fun! I’ve been an official graduate from Point Park for two weeks and if you think time flies in college, just wait until you’re out of it. Before starting my new job (eeeeep!!) I went on a little trip with my mom and aunt to Washington D.C. It’s only four hours away from the ‘Burgh and such a fun place for a weekend road trip! We had a list of things we wanted to see, but didn’t make a set plan so we could move at our own pace. I had so much fun and want to thank my mom and Aunt Holli for spending the time with me! ❤

  Site Seen: National Mall

Eat: Old Ebbitt Grill – We heard from a local this place was really big on food allergy and intolerance (I have a LOT) and they were very accommodating! Unfortunately I had to send my first plate of food back, I hate being that girl, but they gave me a slice of gluten/soy free peanut butter pie on the house for the wait! SO good. Site Seen: The Washington Monument

Tip: Use the Old Town Trolley!! We read many reviews when trying to decide how to get around and they deservingly had the best ones. The tour guides were energetic and informative and you get to hear/learn so many things when traveling to various locations. Site Seen: Chinatown

Eat: Wicked Waffle – Gluten-free EVERYTHING! So many combinations and delicious combinations to try right in the downtown area. Quick outdoor stop!

Site Seen: The White House

Tip: Visit the Newseum! We didn’t opt for a ton of museums this trip (their are SO MANY!!!) but when I found out a they had a media museum it was on the top of the list. Tons of world events, ways media is ever/changing and a place to put on your own newscast. If that’s not your interest there are so many to choose from, there’s one for everyone!Site Seen: Smithsonian National Zoo

Eat: Topolino’s! This restaurant was near our hotel and it had enough options for everyone. As most, we didn’t stay inside the downtown D.C. area. We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Camp Springs and had a wonderful stay! The wi-fi was weak but the staff was friendly and helpful. They provide shuttles to nearby the metro, which gets you into the city quickly and cheap. For a full look at D.C., check out the hashtag #BelleTakesDC or search my page on Instagram: @seaschelll

Catch you back in the ‘Burgh next week!

PGH Vintage Mixer

Now that it’s summer, outside vendor markets are popping up in every neighborhood across the city! My mom is a self-proclaimed flea market queen so I spent a fair share of my childhood learning how to look for personal treasures in other peoples junk. This past Saturday was our first adventure of the season and my first vintage market! We went to PGH Vintage Mixer at the Heinz History Center and Spring It On! in Lawrenceville. So many fun outfits and finds! I picked a few of my favorite clothing vendors, girls AND guys, to mix into your wardrobe.

What I Wore: Graduation

Dress:; Shoes: Burlington Coat Factory; Necklace: Target

Today I’m sharing the dress I wore for my college graduation! When I first started looking I had a very strict guideline in my mind of what I thought I wanted, but that went out the window about 10 minutes into my search. I don’t know how to be anything other than myself and when a dress is screaming my name, I can’t deny it! I went with this floral two-piece number from and I’m OBSESSED with it. I want to wear it over and over and over again.

I paired it with a floral nude and white statement necklace to tie in the tan of my heels. The diagonal cut of the skirt is usually seen on skorts, but I loved the skirt looked on my legs up close and far out.  The cut of the top also flatters girls with broad shoulders who don’t like to wear halter style (hello that’s me!). My only disappointment was having to order the same size for both pieces. I would really liked to order different sizes for the top and bottom, like swim suit shopping, but it wasn’t allowed. Disappointing, but I made it work!

I’m already looking forward to the next event I can sport it to! (;

Art All Night #OOTN

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

This past Saturday I attended my very first Art All Night in Lawrenceville. Lots of creative art work, live bands and my favorite part, live painters. The warehouse is a perfect venue with space for tons of pieces and people. The number of pieces being displayed was overwhelming and the talent was unreal. I didn’t want to exclude any artists work from this post because they all were truly amazing, so I’m sharing an outfit of the night with you all.

When someone asks me what my personal style, my answer is however I feel that day. One day you can see me in a floral dress with a statement necklace and heels, yet the next I”ll be wearing all black with red lipstick and funky hair. I don’t like to stick to one thing and I don’t want to be in a category. Trying new things is what fashion is all about. That being said, I wore my first “space bun” and LOVED it! My hair is short so I opted for a solo bun on the top pulling up the top half of my hair.

Jacket: F21; Dress: TJ Maxx; Necklace: Claire’s; Booties: Old Navy; Purse: Thrifted; Socks:H&M

My favorite combination right now is wearing a baby doll dress with thigh-high socks. The look is so simple and shows just the right amount of skin. Leather jackets are my staple to wear out on a weekend night. Who doesn’t feel like a complete bad-ass in one?!

I’m officially 6 days out from calling myself a college graduate! I can’t wait to share the celebration and next chapter with all of you.

What trend is happening right now that feels out of your comfort zone?!
